Anonymous asked : Cedric Diggory was kinda at the very front of things. I don't think us 'puffs are necessarily the type to avoid the spotlight, just more likely to be content in supporting roles, if that makes sense.

I makes perfect sense.

I agree as well.

Anonymous asked : I think Hufflepuffs got the least amount of attention because the story couldn't hold any more AWESOME. Also, Hufflepuffs don't need any of Harry Potter's adventures. They make their own.

Also this.

#How did you feel when you were sorted into Hufflepuff?
 #Anonymous
Anonymous asked : I always knew I was a 'Puff! The test was pretty nerve-wracking, though. I was terrified that I'd be missorted. But then I got my results and my (Gryffindor) brother was all like, "I guess Hufflepuffs really never do leave their own behind, huh?" It was a good moment.

— Since I have multiple asks that are similar, I’m going to answer them all at once!

I really don’t think there is just one definitive house for everyone, because really how could everyone fit perfectly into 4 groups. I used to think of myself as a Ravenclaw, Harry was almost in Slytherin, McGonagall was a hatstall, Hermione is as smart as any Ravenclaw, and loads of people think Luna could have been a Hufflepuff. Many potter fans have taken to calling them selves things like Gryffinpuff, Slytherclaw,  etc.; which is great too.
I’ve addressed this sort of ask a few times already here, here, here, and here. Every house has amazing traits that anyone would be lucky to have.

To Anon #2, your life is probably great lol. Maybe those are traits you value, it’s been said a few times that it’s possible that that is another factor that may go into the sorting featured in the books. You don’t necessarily have to accept the sorting in pottermore (or anywhere else), if you think of yourself as another house, go with it.

I hope you all feel better about your sorting as time goes on. The main reason I asked for people to submit the feeling they had after being sorted was entirely to help everyone else with their feelings. You can find all of those posts here under the tag “How did you feel when you were sorted into Hufflepuff?”

Also, I will be making a FAQ soon. So if you’ve asked something recently and I haven’t answered it, it’s probably because I’m going to answer it there.

Anonymous asked : So there's this amazing site called thinkgeek. They just recently got Harry Potter scarves and beanies and I was all excited. I was going to go buy a Hufflepuff beanie when I read the description. "--Gryffindor, Slytherin, or Ravenclaw. Why not Hufflepuff? We think there's a YouTube video out there that explains that pretty accurately." I thought it was a joke. Though, they legitimately don't have Hufflepuff merchandise. It makes me really sad so many people think so little of Hufflepuffs.

I was just looking to confirm this, and it is possible that that’s what it used to say. It does not say this anymore. They have been responding to comments saying that the Hufflepuff merch will be coming in soon and you should sign up for email updates.

It is a shame that they would even order merch for all the houses except Hufflepuff and think it was a good idea. I’m sure they quickly regretted it and changed the descriptions when the comments started coming in.

Anonymous asked : okay, i'm having an identity crisis- BIG TIME. I always thought of myself as a Ravenclaw, but my PM test came back Hufflepuff. And i love it! But, I don't know, it just doesn't seem like my actual house. I mean, I love learning, and books, and creativity and wit, and I'm not very patient at all. that being said, I stick up for my friends, I'm modest, trustworthy, and tolerant. Help?

Honestly, I felt similar to this for a while too. I love biology and want to study it for the rest of my life. I study very hard, and enjoy it. I also consider myself an artist. But, overall, what I value most in myself are the traits that make me a Hufflepuff. I think being kind and fair is infinitely more important than being smart or witty. This is similar to what Hermione said in the first movie/book to Harry about how she had books and knowledge but that chivalry and bravery were more important.

I don’t know if that’s exactly what you’re feeling or not.

On the other side of things, you could be on the line between the two houses as many people are. In life there are definitely more than just four kinds of people.
